TCL will launch two new Blackberry-branded devices for 2018

TCL Communication took the CES 2018 to announce that they will release - at least - two new Blackberry smartphones for this year.

The details of these two devices were not yet revealed, but they are expected to be out later in 2018, according to a statement by Alain Lejeune, Global General Manager for BlackBerry Mobile.

But these are not going to be the only releases of the year for the company.

On top of these announcements, the company that owns the rights to the Blackberry brand launched a GSM unlocked BlackBerry Motion and a new color variant and dual-SIM incarnation of the BlackBerry KEYone.

Specs-wise, the BlackBerry Motion comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 px) display with DragonTrail Glass protection, a fingerprint scanner on the front, and it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC processor with 4GB of RAM.

It also features a 12-megapixel camera with a f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front camera, and records videos in 4K at 30fps.

The device has 32GB of storage, expandable via microSD card, Dual-SIM, and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat.

As for the KEYone, the Bronze Edition is just a new color variant with the same standard configuration.

It is a dual-SIM smartphone with Android 7.1 Nougat. 5.5-inch Full-HD screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with 64GB of storage, expandable via microSD card

The phone’s camera setup is a 12-megapixel camera on the back with a f/2.0 aperture, with dual-tone LED flash, and on the front, an 8-megapixel camera that sports a f/2.2 aperture.

According to the company, the BlackBerry Motion was released on the US on January 12, while the new BlackBerry KEYone Bronze Edition will be released in selected markets across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
